Staying active is important whatever is happening in the world but right now we need it more than ever. We cant go to the gym anymore and we cant play sport so it is time to start thinking about how you can exercise at home. A lot of you might be thinking ‘ok that all sounds good in theory but I have no equipment’.
Well, you don’t actually need any equipment to exercise. You just need some creativity. For example, if you want some good cardio then try any of the following:
Cardio at home
- Running on the spot
- Jumping jacks
- Bodyweight circuit
- Wrestling with your partner or your kids!
If you want to work on some muscular strength and endurance then try some resistance training.
Resistance Training at home
- Bodyweight exercises (Squats, Lunges, Push-Ups)
- Lifting (boxes, bags, kids!)
- Heavy gardening
So what is the best exercise to do at home?
The best exercise to do at home is the exercise you enjoy doing the most. It’s that simple! If you like it you will have more fun doing it and will be more likely to keep it up.
If you want to try a bodyweight circuit then give this one a go. This took me about 35-minutes in my garden but you can do it in the front room if you don’t have a garden. You can even get the kids involved as I did, although that wasn’t planned!
