CrossFit at MVMT42 – Part 3

Three weeks into my membership at MVMT42 and still loving it. I’m particularly pleased this week as I managed to PB my power clean (80kg for 3 reps). That was a relatively new lift for me so my progress was pretty quick once I learnt the technique. I have also managed to complete a few muscle-ups and handstand push-ups which feel very cool.

Get your dopamine HIT!

Exercise is great for flooding the body with happy hormones. It’s why I love it so much. One of those hormones is dopamine which is a reward hormone. Smoking, alcohol, food and playing on our mobile phones all give us a little dopamine hit, but it’s highly addictive, hence why those vices are too. Learning new skills also gives us a little dopamine. Deep down we all love learning, it’s addictive. The more we learn the more we want to learn. So not only am I getting the happy hormones from the exercise I am also getting it from learning new skills such as power cleans, handstand push-ups and muscle-ups.

Next time you are feeling a little down in the dumps then instead of spending your money on cigarettes, alcohol or the next iPhone that’s about to be released try spending it on a new exercise programme such as Crossfit at MVMT42. A far healthier addiction 😜
