Level 3 Diploma in Health and Fitness
Course Overview
This is by far the best nationally accredited qualification on the market. and ideal for someone that wants to maximise their success in the fitness industry. Qualifying you in Fitness Instruction, Personal TrainingExercise ReferralBusiness Skills for Fitness ProfessionalsKettlebell TrainingStudio Cycling, and Circuit Training. It also has a huge saving of over £500 when compared to enrolling onto each course individually.

The Fitness Instruction, Personal Training and Exercise Referral units

are delivered on a one to one basis with a tutor, which gives you the opportunity to begin studying immediately and the flexibility to study around your work and family commitments. Once you have registered, you are assigned your own personal tutor who guides you through your qualifications, assessing you throughout the courses whilst giving you support via email, telephone and face to face tutorials. All your tutorials and practical assessments can be booked in Monday to Saturday 8am to 4pm. The Business Skills for Fitness Professionals, Kettlebell Training, Studio Cycling, and Circuit training units are delivered in groups on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.

The course takes approximately 16 weeks to complete but can be fast tracked if needed.

The qualification is broken down into the following units:


Fitness Instruction

  • Unit 1 – Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise
  • Unit 2 – Know How to Support Clients who Take Part in Exercise and Physical Activity
  • Unit 3 – Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment
  • Unit 4 – Principles of Fitness, Exercise and Health
  • Unit 5 – Planning Gym-Based Exercise
  • Unit 6 – Instructing Gym-Based ExerciseThis accredited qualification is for anyone


Personal Training

  • Unit 1 – Anatomy and Physiology for Exercise
  • Unit 2 – Applying the Principles of Nutrition to a Personal Training Session
  • Unit 3 – Programming Personal Training Sessions
  • Unit 4 – Delivering Personal Training Sessions


Exercise Referral

  • Unit 1 – Professional practice for exercise referral instructors
  • Unit 2 – Understanding medical conditions for exercise referral
  • Unit 3 – Planning exercise referral programmes
  • Unit 4 –Instructing exercise with referred patients


Business Skills for Fitness Professionals

  • Unit 1 – Improving your business skills


Circuit Training

  • Unit 1 –Planning a circuit training session
  • Unit 2 –Instructing a circuit training session

Kettlebell Training

  • Unit 1 –Planning a kettlebell exercise session
  • Unit 2 –Instructing a kettlebell exercise session


Studio Cycling

  • Unit 1 –Planning a studio cycling session
  • Unit 2 –Instructing a studio cycling session
  • Some experience of gym-based exercises, including free weights, is  recommended but not essential
  • There is also an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved so you should have basic skills in communication.
